Melbourne is proudly home to an exciting new state of the art culinary destination, with Grazeland recently opening its doors to a lot of fanfare and much to the delight of foodies.
Located in Melbourne’s inner west, the new dedicated food precinct stretches over 10,000 square metres and is home to more than 50 food vendors, three bars, a number of retail stalls, two stages and a huge screen showing sports.
Invest Victoria played a critical role to ensure this exciting project got off the ground, working with a range of stakeholders to make Grazeland a reality.
One of the success factors was able to identify a site that would meet the unique requirements of the Grazeland project such as adequate buffer distances to residential and close proximity to public transport.
To this end, Invest Victoria worked closely with Museums Victoria that led to the identification of the site, undetook discussions with Hobsons Bay City Council to progress the application and assisted with the commencement of lease negotiations.
It also facilitated extensive engagement with the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions as the hospitality industry came to a standstill during COVID-19, and provided planning application and technical process advice, as well as information on state and federal government funding programs.
